Professor Uma Kothari is chairing the Royal Geographical Society (with the Institute of British Geographers) 2020 conference which will be held at the Society in London, from Tuesday 1 to Friday 4 September 2020.

The theme Uma has selected for the conference is borders, borderlands and bordering. The conference programme will include sessions and papers which engage directly with this theme, as well as others focusing on all areas of geography.

The conference call for sessions, papers and posters for AC2020 is open. Members of the geographical and related communities are invited to propose sessions, papers and posters for the RGS-IBG Annual International Conference 2020. Proposals for all contributions must be received by Friday 14 February 2020.

The conference programme will be published in mid-May 2020. Registration will open in early 2020. More information about letters of paper acceptance and/or letters of invitation for visa applications is available in our guide to planning your attendance at the conference.
