Oliver Bakewell focuses on the intersections between migration and mobility and processes of development and change, with an empirical focus on migration within Africa.

Oliver’s work helps challenge some of the myths European’s hold about African migration. As he says, “The narrative of African migration is of people moving to Europe. But when you look at the statistics, it’s totally untrue. Most people are moving between African countries.” Watch more here:
